That's the way things stood until Gifford's sixth home run of the season in the eighth. Kutztown's Antonio Russillo hit a grand slam in the sixth to tie the game. That was followed by a pair of RBI singles from Gifford and Luke Cantwell (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown). Corey Stouffer (Souderton, Pa./North Penn) reached on an error that allowed two unearned runs to score in West Chester's first at bats. The Golden Rams raced out to a 4-0 lead in game two, just to see the Golden Bears roar back with a four-spot in the bottom half of the sixth. ![]() ![]() West Chester (28-16, 14-10 PSAC East) dropped the first game of the doubleheader, 2-1, but rebounded for a 5-4 win in the nightcap at Kutztown (27-18, 12-12). The Golden Rams salvaged a split of the twinbill, which was enough to clinch a spot in the postseason. Gifford (Doylestown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth that proved to be the difference in the second game of a season-ending conference doubleheader at Kutztown on Friday afternoon. ![]()
